is situated in the Blue Mountains just 2.5 hours from Sydney CBD, it is an authentic bush resort that would surely excite nature lovers, young and old alike. If you live in the busy metropolitan area of Sydney and need a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life then this is the perfect place to go, but is also a beautiful place to visit for those from further afield.

Getting there is easy enough, taking either the M4 or M2/M7 Motorway from Sydney to Lithgow and continuing on by following the signs to Mudgee until you reach a small village called Capertee, then keep going until you see a big sign that says “”. Now, going to the resort from where the sign stands is a bit of a trek as you would have to drive through a narrow and winding unpaved road for another good 4-12kms (depending on where your cottage is located), but it’s all part of the fun and adventure. Just don’t expect your car to be pristine and squeaky clean by the end of it.

At , you can either stay in their riverside cabins or mountain cabins, but if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous you can opt for camping instead. Hot showers and toilet facilities are provided for campers.

There are plenty of activities you can do at . You can swim, fish, canoe or gold pan along the crystal clear Turon River. You can also explore the area by bushwalking, horse riding, or mountain biking. Both canoes and horses are available for hire upon request, call to find out about rates. Gold pans are free to borrow, just ask the front desk.

bring your own canoe or hire one from the front desk

Horse riding must be arranged a day before with the manager. Hourly, half day or full day rates are available for adults and children. You will be guided by a horse riding instructor where you will ride along the bush trek and across the river. If you have never been horse riding before, do not fret as the instructor will accommodate for all levels of riding skills.

There is plenty of wildlife at , so for all you animal lovers this is a great place to discover unique wild animals. When I went there I spotted several mountain goats and kangaroos.
At night you can set up bonfires and roast marshmallows while watching the beautiful bright moon and stars.

A perfect weekend getaway for all ages.
