Talga Estate Hunter Valley

Hunter Valley had become our family’s favourite ‘quick and easy’ holiday destination. The region which is just 2 - 2 1/2 hours’ drive from Sydney is indeed a ‘Quick and easy ‘place to get to. Even on very short notice you never fail to find accommodation in Hunter making it truly a ‘quick and easy ‘destination.



On one of our ‘quick’ getaways to Hunter, we experienced a different kind of holiday in a different kind of estate. Talga Estate in Rothbury a pomegranate orchard in the midst of wine country.



The sprawling acreage of vineyards and pomegranate orchards of Talga are an ideal hideaway for families seeking a quiet holiday or even for couples who want to get away from it all for some quite time romancing.



On arrival we were greeted with a gift hamper of a tasty breakfast which included bacon, eggs, fresh bread, butter, jams and honey. All set for the next morning. Talga gifts did not end there, the owners also provided us with a much welcome bottle of Hunter Valley wine, which we savoured that night itself.



The estate offers boutique style accommodation in luxury villas and cabins. These provide the ultimate modern luxury with large king size beds, crisp white linen, every bathroom equipped with hydrotherapy spa baths and well equipped kitchens. The master bed room in our villa surely was a romantic hide away with its luxurious feeling and the open plan setting. The two person hydrotherapy spa was an added bonus.



The owners have put thought in to giving their guest the ultimate holiday experience. They have even equipped the villas and cabins with board games and books providing families the opportunity of great bonding time together. We spent our nights chatting with our kids and playing board games. Watching a movie was also an option with the DVD player that was provided and the movies you can borrow from the front desk.



[ADVERT]The orchards provide plenty of entertainment for the kids. With enough space for them to run about and even pluck pomegranate and eat under the bushes then and there. The estate boasts of its own lake where fishing is allowed but whether you eat your catch or not, you should give some thought to or consult the property manager.

Talga is not too far from the action in Hunter. If you are one who does not want to be making your own meals while on holiday, within a short drive from Talga you can easily find restaurants cafes and eateries.

All villas offer BBQ facilities in your own private veranda with a 6 seater outdoor setting, ideal for evening fun or for small group gatherings. Talga indeed provides a new and refreshing holiday experience for the whole family.
